Will this work on a S9 antminer?

Support

It’s complicated. The answer should be yes but it is NO. The S9 consist of (3) hashing boards + (1) controller, for a total of (10) PCie cable. The unit is rated at 1450watt, let us rounded at 1500watt. What is 1500watt / 2 power supply = 750watt! This look good but there are (3) hashing board not (2)! Which mean one board will have to be powered by two separated PSU and that is a big NO NO. We are working on the X11 adapter which will allow such configuration . In the mean time consider buying (2) 1200watt and enjoy the extra power, if you ever want to overclock the unit you will have plenty power

Why it is a bad idea to power (1) hashing board with (2) power supply? If one of your power supply die, the hashing board will be partially powered. As a result it will overheat and get damaged.

hi after replacing wires, replacing one x6 to x7 adapter and adding a pico psu. will this be able to power 8gpu mining rig? ~1350 watts im thinking like that. 2pcie cables for gpus (onefor gpu one for riser) total of 16 cables +one additional for pico psu and one additional for peripherals . now my, main concern is that psu powering mobo has to start second. assuming that both powersupplies will be left on constant ON and connected to same power rail with switch. wont there be any problems of syncronizing them? (mobo left on autostart on power loss ofc )

This specifically mentions an A4 Dominator Kit. Does this work for powering GPUs also? If these are regular PCI-e connectors then I’m assuming the answer is yes, but I just want to make sure.

Will this work on an s7 if I use one psu to power 2 boards and the other to power 1 board and the i/o board?

Yes it will. However we suggest not to power one hashing board with two power supply. If one PSU would failed the other PSU would FRY the hashing board. Our X11 Board will solve this problem. Due to be release soon

How to connect two power supplies?

Late reply – Sorry the X7 or X8 will not allow. Only the X6B X11 and X7b are capable
