I would really like to purchase a board for private use, but shipping to sao paulo / brazil is too high, it was 40US
would it be possible to provide another cheaper shipping method?

Support
2 years 4 months ago

I’m surprised Brazil is still a shipping option as we had so much trouble with the country custom process. You should check third-party shipping companies in Florida that offer cheap rate in bulk to Brazil. Then we can ship to them and they ship to you.

Got my order today and I’m in general a bit disappointed with this new breakout board.

First, it does not work on my power supply: E1100E-S0 (Dell P/N 0GDPF3) which is listed as “we expect compatibility”. The connector fits but nothing happens when I push the power-up button. I have a few identical PSUs and none of them work :'( The compatibility list needs an update for X15B. Let me know if you need more information on my PSU.

Second, the build quality is worse than other breakout boards (e.g., X12) I bought earlier. As you can even see in the product photos, many components are poorly soldered (too much/uneven solder) and there could be bad connections.

Just got my X15BBRK boards. I connected the Sync (4 pin fan connect) cable but its working opposite of the instructions. Pressing the power button on one Power Supply Board turns off the other Power Supply and vice versa. I cannot get both to turn on at the same time with the Sync cable connected. Am I missing something simple?

Support
2 years 3 months ago

You are on a catch 22! One unplugs the sync cable. Two, power off all PSU. Three reconnect the sync cable and power the first one … The other will now follow and be synced

Customer
Thorvald
2 years 3 months ago

Hahaha yep I figured it out right after posting. Teach me to play with them before using the sync cable. One had memorized powering up in off mode… so when I used sync I got the “toggle”. Unplugged sync, turned both on at once then connected sync, done works good now. Cheers!

“Full breakout board compatibility list.”

This needs to be updated as the X15*B* isn’t listed at all on that page.

My expectation (correct me) that it is the same compatibilities as the X15.

Also, I had an ‘in stock’ notification for the X15, so you may want to notify those people that the *B* is the same and available now.

Hi Joseph. I have $500 in Dell 1100w 0YT39Y power supplies showing compatibility with the x15. The new x15 rev :b which we were pushed into purchasing as an upgraded replacement to the orignal x15 is not compatible with the PSUs on x15s compatibility list. I think alot of your customers waiting for the x15 will be very disappointed that these new boards are not compatible with the power supplies listed compatible with the x15. Do I need to ship all of these x15:rev b boards back to parallel miner? It looks like you are aware of the problem that it’s missing one or more solders.

I have read some other posts regarding Dell Power Supplies 1100W, how do I know if the solution would be soldering the 3 pins from the board?

Thanks.

We have tested it extensively with the power supply we have in our stock. It is possible, some PSUs with different firmware might react differently. Just be assured that no matter the outcome we will always provide support. All our stock has currently been updated, so there is no need for modification on your side.

How can I fix the issue regarding the voltage led indicator? I assume the yellow indicator should be green?

The breakout board is connected to my ATX power supply via Molex and no PCI cables are connected at the moment. As a result just a fixed yellow light in the breakout board.

Thank you for the response

Support
2 years 2 months ago

Amber light is to indicate the PSU is getting AC power, green light when it’s on. First, unplug your ATX power supply from the breakout board. Just try with the minimum > Board and PSU Only < If all is fine proceed with your ATX PSU HDD Large Molex cable power into the Breakout board to sync them. If still have issue reach me on our contact page and send me a picture of the PSU label. Thanks

I have a rev A board. Does anyone have issues running this with the Dell Z2000-S1? Mine turns off after 5 secs and doesn’t turn back on. I have 3 boards and 2 of these PSUs, all behavior same. I also have a Z2000-S2, which works fine with the X15, all three boards.
Anyone know if i need to bridge some pins together, or i need a rev B?
TIA.

Well waited 4 months watching parallelminer for the x15 board. Joseph G from Parallelminer in early November said a new version is being developed and will be coming soon plus the quantity available will be in the thousands enough for everyone who have been patient.

Parallelminer makes pre-sales available and I place my order on 12/14/2021 before the launch on 12/20/20121. My credit card is immediately charged the full amount of the order.

I see it available on parallelminer for a week and a half. After one week I call in to check my order and Shaun from Parallelminer assures me that my order will be processed and that they will send me a new email once it is. Fast forward a few days after that and I see that my order was not processed and has been cancelled as the product is no longer available….

Not sure what happened here but this is really poor customer service. I have contacted Parallelminer for further explanation on what happened.

Received several X15 units today and everything seemed to be working fine until I found out that the server PSUs I have synced with the ATX PSU turn on by themselves about 20sec after shutting the system off. When I remove the sync cable, I can turn off the server PSUs via the button on the breakout board and as expected they stay off. I’ve tried multiple 1600W and 1850W Dell PSUs and nothing seems to work. I’ve already gone in and disabled any sleep states or self power on in the BIOS and still doesn’t work. In summary, The server PSUs consistently turn back on around 20sec after a windows shutdown or a hard shutdown.

I had to do the solder fix on my 15b boards.
However when the 3 lanes are connected as shown in the picture above my 750w dell psu is constantly on and the power button does not work. If just the first 2 lines are soldered it works with the power button.

Didn’t work when I got it. As the comments indicated, I had to solder the last 3 pins for it to work for my Dell 1100W 80+ Platinum PSU (38GYJ). It seems they will be updating the board to fix this. Also, buying this from Canada is crazy expensive.

I’m sure these contacts (psu side connectors) are gauged well for 1600w or less, but not above that. I have d2000 and z2000 dell psu varienta. I was much looking forward to the high power density this combination would offer. However, the breakout board isn’t up to the task. It quickly overheats at the psu connector. I even tried some little known tricks like adding Oxgard ( antioxidant, thermal paste and conductivity promoter), beefing up the solderments and pointing a fan at the breakout board. It still heats up well over 100c and baked the connection on the psu side.

Without an amperage reading I amp clamped the AC and DC side and noted around 1940Watts. Do not expect to reliably pull ≥1800Watts ( from these without having unsafe conditions. Hell I’d love to see some kind of kickback for the kind of quality (lack) in these. 2 x 2000watt psus now have charred connectors!

Even had to scratch my head for a day until it started coming out that we needed to solder the outer 2 control pins on the board. Come on Parallel! Test your suppliers and products! And please remove the feasibility that it is safe to run these at 2400watts. And be consistent, 120amps does not equate to 2400 watts on 12 volt applications. It equates to 1400!

    • Joseph g (store manager)

We mark the 2000watts PSU as compatible in terms of “Will they work together” However, we do state a maximum of 120Amps. At 12volts that is 1440watts probably pushed at 1600watt. 2000watt at full capacity is simply too many amps for the contact connectors.

I’ve ordered 15-20 boards from parallel miner, and all have worked great except for this last batch of qty 5 X15B boards. All 5 have failed running 1400w (or less). One was replaced under the 30 day warranty, but the other 4 ended up failing slightly over the 30 day mark. My symptom is the same as others have listed here…yellow light is on, but will not power on when pressing the on/off switch.

    I have a question please –
Recently i purchased this breakout board , and also i have breakout ZSX ordered two years back .
my rig main power is ATX —- to do the sync with ZSX breakout i connected Mulex cable from ATX to the ZSX breakout .
up to here sync working perfectly with no issue .

now with the new breakout x15 , and used the sync cable (4Pin ) also purchased from here – to be connected between the two power server ZSX and this new one ,
once i turn on my rig — atx power on and ZSX power on , but the new one purchased x15 turn off .
if i turned on the x15 breakout the rig is turned off . so sync is not working well .

please let me know what i should do .

Although we previously resolved this issue privately via the contacts page form, I wanted to reply here just in case anyone else has the same issue in the future.

We were unable to fully replicate this issue when we did our own testing, but we found that connecting the ATX directly to the X15B (this product) and then using the interconnect sync cable to connect the X15B to the X15 ZSX made the entire setup work as expected.
